Marisa Perales (J.D., cum laude 1997, Texas Tech School of Law) joined this firm in 2005. She previously worked for the Third Court of Appeals in Austin and in the Environmental Law Division at the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (now TCEQ). She was a member and chair of the City of Austin Environmental Commission. Marisa currently serves on the boards of two non-profit organizations, Clean Water Action and Commission Shift.

Richard Lowerre (J.D., 1975, University of Texas at Austin) has been in private practice with this or related law firms since 1980, with the exception of 1986-1988 when he was at the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). He served as a staff attorney at the National Academy of Sciences from 1975-1977, an Assistant Attorney General of Texas from 1978-1980, and the Assistant Commissioner for Regulatory Programs at the TDA from 1986-88.

Vic McWherter (J.D., 1986, University of Texas at Austin) served as Public Interest Counsel of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality from 2014 until his retirement in 2022.  Prior to this appointment, he was the Senior Attorney in the Office of Public Interest Counsel for seventeen years, and a staff attorney in the Executive Director’s Office of Legal Services. After law school, he worked in private practice in Los Angeles for six years before returning to his hometown of Austin.
