Marisa Perales (J.D., cum laude 1997, Texas Tech School of Law) joined this firm in 2005. She previously worked for the Third Court of Appeals in Austin and in the Environmental Law Division at the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (now TCEQ). She was a member and chair of the City of Austin Environmental Commission. Marisa currently serves on the boards of two non-profit organizations, Clean Water Action and Commission Shift.
Eric Allmon (J.D., 2001, University of Texas at Austin) joined this firm in 2005. He previously served the Office of Public Interest Counsel at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) from 2001 to 2005. In addition to law, he holds degrees in civil engineering and liberal arts.
Lauren Ice (J.D., 2014, University of Oregon) joined this firm in 2018. She previously served as Staff Attorney with Save Our Springs Alliance. Prior to practicing law, she worked with Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide and Texas Campaign for the Environment. Lauren currently serves on the board of Texas Campaign for the Environment Fund and Save Our Springs Alliance.
Lauren Alexander (J.D., 2023, University of Texas at Austin) joined this firm in 2023. She previously worked as a law clerk for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Bayou City Waterkeeper, and the 126th Civil District Court of Travis County.
Richard Lowerre (J.D., 1975, University of Texas at Austin) has been in private practice with this or related law firms since 1980, with the exception of 1986-1988 when he was at the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). He served as a staff attorney at the National Academy of Sciences from 1975-1977, an Assistant Attorney General of Texas from 1978-1980, and the Assistant Commissioner for Regulatory Programs at the TDA from 1986-88.
David Frederick (J.D., 1974, University of Texas at Austin) has been in private practice with this or related firms since 1985. He previously served as counsel to the Judiciary Committee of the Texas Constitutional Convention, Chief Counsel to the Texas House Judiciary Committee, and Assistant Criminal District Attorney in Southeast Texas.
Vic McWherter (J.D., 1986, University of Texas at Austin) served as Public Interest Counsel of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality from 2014 until his retirement in 2022. Prior to this appointment, he was the Senior Attorney in the Office of Public Interest Counsel for seventeen years, and a staff attorney in the Executive Director’s Office of Legal Services. After law school, he worked in private practice in Los Angeles for six years before returning to his hometown of Austin.
